www.sladewatkins.com and www.sladewatkins.net (the “Sites”) are owned and operated by Slade Watkins and Rogueport Media (“Rogueport Media”, “Slade Watkins”). Slade Watkins operates servers primarily located in Washington, District of Columbia, United States, and can be contacted at dataprivacyofficer@sladewatkins.net.

Purpose

The purpose of this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is to inform users who use our Sites of the following:

  1. The personal data we will collect;
  2. Use of collected data;
  3. Who has access to collected data;
  4. The rights of our Sites users; and
  5. Our Sites cookie policy.

This Privacy Policy shall apply in addition to any terms of service that may be in place.

We only collect data that helps us achieve the purpose(s) set out in this Privacy Policy. Additional data will not be collected without your explicit consent.

How We Use Personal Data

Data collected on our Sites will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or any relevant pages on our Sites. We will not use or otherwise share Personal Data beyond what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

The data we collect automatically is used for the following purposes:

Who We Share Personal Data With

Employees

We may disclose Personal Data to members of our organization who may require access to the data for their responsibilities. This access is heavily audited and recorded by an internal team, and any member of the organization who needs access will be held under an Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Access will only be given to carry out responsibilities that are within the bounds of this Privacy Policy.

Third Parties

We may share Personal Data with the following third parties:

  3. Rogueport Media;
  4. ConvertKit;
  5. Stripe; and
  6. GoatCounter

We may share the following Personal Data with third parties:

  1. Secure payment information;
  2. Personal information (first/last names or emails);
  3. Analytics and statistics information; and
  4. Vital security information found during routine audits.

Third parties will not be able to access Personal Data without explicit consent, nor will they be able to go beyond the bounds of this Privacy Policy at any time.

Other Disclosures

We refuse to sell your Personal Data. However, we may share your Personal Data with third parties for the following purposes:

  1. If the law so requires;
  2. If it is required for any Court proceeding; and
  3. To prove and protect the legal rights to our Content.

If you follow hyperlinks from our Sites to another Site, you hereby acknowledge that Slade Watkins and Rogueport Media are not responsible for their respective practices or privacy policies.

How Long We Store Personal Data

Internal and external communications and documentation is retained for a minimum of two (2) years upon receipt. Communications may, however, be held indefinitely.

Marketing email information is stored indefinitely, unless the subscriber opts back out of an email using the hyperlink in the footer of every email. If a subscriber is inactive for a period of eighteen (18) months, the data associated with them will be destroyed.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

We use end-to-end encryption for all Personal Data transmitted between our Sites, servers, and our users. Data is inaccessible by Slade Watkins and Rogueport Media without going through a strict auditing and logging process. Payments are processed by Stripe (a third-party payment processor) in a heavily encrypted and secure manner.

While we try to take all necessary precautions to safeguard our users against a potential security breach, there is always an inherent risk of harm when communicating on the Internet. Therefore, we cannot guarantee user’s security or privacy across the Internet besides offering the highest level of security we possibly can.

Children

The minimum age to use our Sites is 16 years or older. We do not knowingly collect or use Personal Data from children under 15 years of age or younger. If we learn that we’ve collected Personal Data from a child under 15 years of age or younger, we will immediately destroy the Data. If parents or guardiansm discover that their child has provided us with their Personal Data, they may contact our Privacy Officer to have it immediately destroyed.

How To Access, Modify, Delete, or Challenge the Data Collected

We regret to say that we unfortunately cannot destroy data collected automatically for security purposes. However, for potentially personally identifiable information that is given to us when certain actions are performed on our Sites, we are able to track the use of that information and destroy it. You may contact our Privacy Officer at any time with such requests.

Opt-Out of Data Collection, Use, or Disclosure

In addition to the method(s) described in the How to Access, Modify, Delete, or Challenge the Data Collected section, we provide the following specific opt-out methods for all forms of collection, use, or disclosure of your Personal Data specified below:

1. An opt-out link is available at the tail end of all emails sent by Slade Watkins and Rogueport Media. Clicking that link and confirming that you’d like to be removed from future marketing emails will immediately destroy your Personal Data.

2. You can, at any time, contact our Data Privacy Officer directly at dataprivacyofficer@sladewatkins.net with the information you want removed. In all cases, correspondence relating to your requests will be destroyed immediately, along with your Personal Data.

Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file, stored on a user’s device by a website. Its purpose is to collect data relating to the user’s browsing habits, store credentials, and apply configuration information. When we amend this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. We will attempt to inform users of changes to our Privacy Policy to the best of our ability. However, we recommend that users of our Sites periodically review our Privacy Policy to ensure they are made aware of any updates.
