With how big my parents house is, my dad and I decided to deploy Nest Wifi points throughout the house for a pretty robust mesh system. My parents are fairly deep in the Google ecosystem, so we figured it’d work well. We were wrong. Honestly, there are so many issues with Nest Wifi that I’ve been pulling my hair out for weeks!
I saw this post from Joe Rossignol over at MacRumors this morning, and it has made me wish Apple still made AirPort. That was their line of routers and network-attached storage devices. With the Apple C1 being the first cellular modem chip developed in-house, I have to wonder if they will revisit the line some day.
It feels like a stretch, but I think they should do it anyway. Bring back the goodness “with the power of Apple silicon,” perhaps?
